What a year it’s been! 2020, you have certainly proven to be full of surprises. Along with new ways to interact with people, restrictions on gatherings and increased hygiene across all parts of life, you now also have to discern whether it is safe to travel or not.
To help you out, we’ve listed all the things we are doing to keep you safe while staying with us below, proving it is absolutely safe to travel again. If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us on 07 3295 4100.
At Novotel Brisbane South Bank, we are proud to say we belong to the Accorhotels group. Throughout the pandemic, Accor has monitored the situation closely and has developed a new set of hygiene & prevention measures to ensure your safety, creating the AllSafe cleanliness label. In addition to AllSafe, we have gone the extra mile and been independently audited by Bureau Veritas. We are proud to say we excelled in every category and achieved an incredible 100%.
When staying with us you can rest assured, we have the best medical care ready for you, should you need it. AXA, a global leader in insurance, is our partner in providing services such as teleconsultations as well as access to their extensive network of medical professionals to keep you COVID-safe at all times.
We now clean our public spaces every two hours, and there is an an increased focus on high-touch areas such as lifts, luggage racks, and door handles. Items such as Eftpos machines, pens and restaurant tables are also cleaned after every use. All kitchen, food & beverage and housekeeping staff wear PPE (personal protective equipment) such as masks and gloves to minimise risks in the kitchen and you will be able to find many hand sanitizer stations throughout the hotel.
When checking into the hotel, you will quickly see the protective plexi-screens we have installed at reception and in the restaurant bar, eliminating any risk of direct droplet infection. Additionally, all food service operates contactless in the hotel.
One of the key terms defining this year, definitely has been ‘social distancing’. Outlining a new way to interact with one another, we have made some adjustments at the hotel, too. You will be able to find floor markings, banners, information on area maximum capacities and dedicated entry and exit points throughout the hotel, all with the goal to minimise close contact to others. Additionally, all restaurant and meeting room set-ups have been adapted to reflect a capacity of 2sqm per person and 1.5 metres between each person.
We’ve stripped our accommodation rooms of all non-essential items such as decorative pillows and newsletters. You can of course still request these items to be in your room, however removing them initially allows us to spend additional time cleaning each room top to bottom.
Our staff are extensively trained on PPE usage, preventative measures, management of sickness and local regulations. Staff also receive regular updates on ever-changing guidelines and complete daily health declaration forms, in addition to not coming into work if even a little unwell.
We have implemented a range of fully flexible accommodation offers, so you can book with the security to be able to change your plans if needed. Many of the available rates can be cancelled up until 6pm of the day of arrival with no penalty.
At Novotel Brisbane South Bank we are proud to lead by example. Not only can your trust the Accor AllSafe label, but also the independent Bureau Veritas certification. . We are all in this together and we all want to stay safe. . We look forward to welcoming you!
