It’s summer, days are longer, ice creams melt faster and we couldn’t be more excited for what summer has got in store! Let us take you on a tour of our favourite things to do this season in Brisbane.
When in Brisbane, visiting Streets Beach in South Bank is a must! This man made, sparkling blue lagoon is located in the center of the 17ha South Bank Parklands. With its white sandy beaches and subtropical plants it truly is an oasis in the middle of the city and perfect for relaxing and cooling down in those hot, long summer days. Streets Beach also features two other aquatic spaces- the Boat Pool and Aquativity, an interactive water play park for children. While you are visiting Streets Beach, make sure to also take a stroll through the South Bank Parklands and marvel at luscious green rain forest areas, ponds and hidden temples. The Brisbane Wheel, Epicurious Gardens and infamous boganvillia archway can also be found in this suburban patch of paradise.
We love getting active in summer and making use of the longer days. Medibank’s free Feel Good Program features sports classes six days a week with classes ranging from low to high impact. All classes are designed to suit varying fitness levels and no bookings are required, simply turn up and join in the fun. Classes are located in South Bank and Brisbane City. Some of those amazing programs include Yoga, Pilates, Salsa, Bootcamp, Aqua, Barre, Tai Chi. View their timetable here.
If you have ever wondered what Brisbane looks like from above, wonder no more! Brisbane Story Bridge Climbs takes you on a tour of the city’s landmark bridge to its highest point where you have breathtaking views over the whole city.
