Calling all history enthusiasts! Boggo Road Gaol prison is reopening its doors to show you what life was like for a prisoner in the 1900’s. Boggo Road Gaol prison is one of Australia’s most ill-famed prisons, boasting a more than 100 year old history full of riots, escape artists and a three legged cat. These school holidays, visitors can partake in one of two exciting history tours each day, at 11am and 1pm. You will learn about the crimes committed, the prisoner’s daily life and the duties of the officers. There will even be a special live-re-enactment on July 5th, with visitors taking on prisoner’s identities to fully step inside the shoes of a 1900’s inmate.
