Long anticipated, the Queensland Art Gallery (QAG) is reopening to the public on 22 June & the Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) on 7 August. All entries are ticketed, but free. An exhibition we are very excited to explore is Mavis Ngallametta’s ‘Show me the way to go home’. Mavis was widley regarded one of the best indigenous artists in Australia. An elder of the Putch clan and a cultural leader of the Wik and Kugu people of Aurukun, her work explores her life and focuses on country, with a special focus on intertidal estuary and powerful bushfires. If you are still house-bound, don’t worry! QAG & QAGOMA are still offering diverse virtual events such as lectures, draw alongs and multiple workshops.
