Located right by the Brisbane River, the State Library of Queensland isn’t just an impressive, beautiful building, but also is the leading research and reference library in Queensland. It constantly features some of the best exhibitions Brisbane has to offer. One of our current favourites is ‘Entwined: plants and people’, which explores our intrinsic connectedness to plants through a number of photos, illustrations, immersive projections and historical objects. Another absolute must-visit exhibition is ‘The Storytellers’, which tells of Brisbane’s colorful history and tales, as told by local storytellers. Finally, we recommend you visit ‘Deadly Threads’, which tells the stories of a number of Indigenous shirts -born from protests in the 1970’s, helping people express their views, demonstrate resilience and champion various causes. In addition to these incredible exhibitions, the state Library of Queensland also features a number of kid’s play activities.
Entwined: until 14 November 2021
