Whether your definition of luxury is getting pampered, eating divine food or piloting your very own Boeing 737, sometimes you simply need to live a little bigger. We have compiled some of the best possible, luxurious experiences you can experience during your stay in Brisbane. Enjoy!

Take a Hot Air Balloon Ride or Helicopter Ride

Explore some of South East Queensland’s stunning landscapes through a bird’s eye lense. Whether you prefer discovering the urban jungle of Brisbane or the countryside over the Scenic Rim, Somerset and Ipswich regions, you’re in for a majestic ride. Floating Images Hot Air Balloon is Brisbane’s closest ballooning company, located only 30 minutes’ west from the CBD. They offer a boutique ballooning experience, with only one flight and 10 passengers maximum per day, ensuring you are given their full personal attention. Their 29 years of experience and the magnificent landscapes guarantee a truly luxurious experience. As for helicopter flights, Pterodactyl Helicopters offers a very unique, luxurious experience, by combining the flight with a custom winery tour by air, a pub crawl by air or a scenic sunset flight.

Day Spas

Nothing says luxury like treating yourself to a spa experience. For the ultimate luxury day trip, you can’t go past the Lost World Day Spa at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat, a short 1.5 hours drive from Brisbane. Although the name might mislead your, there are no dinosaurs at this retreat ,what you’ll find instead is a gorgeous, greenery filled outlook over Lamington National Park, the McPherson Ranges and the Great Dividing Range. Aside from their infinity pool, steam room and private treatment suites, you can also experience a unique three-hour vino therapy ritual, soaking in blends made from grapes.

Restaurants

It is safe to say that there is no shortage of amazing restaurants in Brisbane. Last year, Brisbane was able to welcome many new flavours to the table. The below restaurants are in no particular order, simply some of our favourites to date. Joy Restaurant – Founded by chefs Tim and Sarah Scott in 2019, this Fortitude Valley gem has quickly taken our hearts by storm. Shrouding the restaurant in mystery, you will not know what is on the menu until you arrive at Joy, but you can be sure that it will be delicious. Offering only about eight seats, pending the most current restrictions, you will definitely need to book your table quite a bit in advance. Elska – Elska is an old, Nordic translation for love, a love for food that you can taste with every meal at this intimate twelve-seater degustation restaurant. Highlighting local produce and expertly preparing it with Nordic culinary techniques, dining at Elska is a beautiful journey. Agnes – An ode to wood-fired cooking, Agnes has quickly gained a loyal following, combining the ancient skill of cooking over fire with contemporary hospitality. While no dishes at Agnes subscribe to any specific cuisine, all meals have been touched by wood-fired cooking in some way. Ironbark, apple wood, olive wood & cherry wood are all used to give ingredients their unique flavour. In summary, Brisbane’s wealth of exquisite dining experiences means that there is no limit to luxury and degustation dining.

Shopping at James Street

Dressing yourself in luxury, quite literally. James Street is one of the best spots in Brisbane to live out your shopaholic self. With shops like AJE, Assembly Label, Auguste, Bassike, Bespoken, Zimmerman and many more there is plenty of shopping to be done. Make a day of it and have lunch at one of the fine restaurants sprinkled amongst the shops, refueling you for another shopping haul.

Make your own perfume: Libertine Parfumerie

Libertine, meaning freedom in French, is a delightful fragrance emporium that showcases some of world’s best perfumes, home fragrances, skin and body products. At one of their exclusive fragrance masterclasses, you can try your hand at creating your own scent and learn about popular fragrance brands. Nothing says luxurious like your own, personal scent, with a glass of champagne in hand.

Fly a Boeing 737

Have you ever wanted to experience what it is like flying a 60 tonne jet airliner? Taking command of the world’s most popular jet airliner is no easy task, but you will have an experienced pilot by your side throughout the entire experience. The Boeing 737 flight simulator is used to train real pilots and you will learn basic instrumentation, control and get to fly in and out of various airports of your choosing. The perfect luxury experience for all aircraft fans.

Sailing Moreton Island

The beautiful Moreton Island, a short drive and boat ride away from Brisbane, features some of Queensland’s best beaches, snorkelling & diving and marine wildlife. The Tangalooma shipwrecks stand out from afar and make a great sight to sail past on a catamaran; certainly a highlight. Whether you’re splashing out on a private cruise, hopping on a sunset cruise or simply basking in the sun on a day cruise with cool drink in hand, you have to experience this little piece of heaven so close to Brisbane.
